The Simplyhealth Group publishes Annual Report
Highlighting growth, innovation, and social impact
The impact of sickness absence on the UK workforce
In 2025, long-term sickness and absence from work continued to have a profound impact on individuals, businesses, and the wider economy. Our 2025 Health and Wellbeing at Work report with the CIPD found that the average UK employee took nearly two full working weeks of sickness absence, which costs the UK an estimated £212 billion each year.
Improving access to healthcare
Removing barriers to healthcare, such as cost and complexity, is crucial to easing pressures on the national health system and helping more people to access the support they need, when they need it. Improving access also encourages a more preventative approach to health, reducing the risk of illness becoming more serious, ultimately limiting absence and bolstering productivity.
During 2025, we saw a continued shift in how people engage with their health, with more customers proactively seeking support and preventative care. Through our low-cost, easy-to-use health cash plans, healthcare services, and dental payment plans, The Simplyhealth Group continues to support everyday health needs – from GP appointments, physiotherapy, and diagnostic scans, to mental health support and dental care, regardless of age or pre-existing conditions.

CEO commentary: Purpose and progress
Commenting on the positive outcomes, Paul Schreier, Chief Executive Officer of The Simplyhealth Group, said:
“Our purpose, to improve access to healthcare for all in the UK, drives everything we do.
In 2025, we have focused on simplifying workplace healthcare by removing barriers and reducing costs, offering much-needed affordability and easier access at a time of continued NHS pressure and growing workplace health needs.
Ease of use remains central to our approach. Through investment in digital and product innovations, we’ve delivered meaningful improvements, including a simpler joining process for Denplan patients, so they can access support quickly and confidently.
With ongoing challenges in dentistry, our Denplan business has remained a trusted voice for our dental practitioners. We’ve actively represented our members with MPs, NHS leaders and sector stakeholders, ensuring they feel supported and able to focus on delivering the highest quality clinical care to their patients.
Our progress this year reflects the passion and dedication of our people, whose commitment to our purpose underpins everything we do.
Looking ahead, we remain committed to making healthcare accessible, affordable and truly barrier-free. Through continued investment and leadership in digital and clinical innovation, we are well-positioned to help build a healthier working nation.”
