  • Stress and anxiety are now the norm, not the exception

  • Absence, presenteeism and attrition are eroding productivity

Meanwhile, many traditional EAP wellbeing tools remain:

Frequently asked questions

What is employee health cover for financial and insurance services?

Employee health cover for financial and insurance services is designed to support fast‑paced, high‑pressure working environments where wellbeing issues like burnout, stress, and MSK (musculoskeletal) problems are common. Our business health plans provide fast access to everyday healthcare, helping reduce absence, protect productivity, and support the wellbeing of teams working in regulated, high‑responsibility roles.

What’s included in Simplyhealth’s business health plans?

We offer three affordable options for financial and insurance services, each designed to support staff wellbeing:

  • Simply Health Plan – Money back towards everyday healthcare like eye tests, dental care and physiotherapy. This is a regulated insurance product

  • Simply Essentials – Instant access to healthcare professionals, including online GP appointments, mental health support and life‑advice helplines. This is not a regulated insurance product

  • Simply Dental Plan – Money back towards dental check‑ups, hygienist visits, X‑rays and more complex treatments. This is a regulated insurance product

Every plan includes access to clinically assured, discounted and self-pay health and wellbeing services. Some services are delivered through trusted third parties.

How quickly can employees access care?

Employees can start accessing their health services as soon as their plan has started and they’ve registered for an online account. They can also claim for most benefits as soon as their plan starts and once they’ve received the treatment or service*.

*Please note: The Simply Dental Plan does not cover:

  • Treatment for dental accidents occurring before the policy start date

  • Mouth cancer already diagnosed or for which the individual is undergoing tests, either before or during the qualifying period, even if diagnosed after

How easy is it to set up and manage as an HR team?

Simplyhealth plans are built for simplicity. Setup is fast and ongoing admin is minimal. Employees can manage their own access via our SimplyPlan app or online, and support is always available for onboarding and ongoing management.

Can we tailor the plan for different staff groups?

Yes. Our plans are flexible, and some can be tailored to cover a mixed workforce. Whether that’s senior leaders, hybrid workers, client‑facing teams, or operational staff. Everything is centrally managed to keep HR processes simple.

Bespoke agreements are available under our Simply Health Plan for businesses with 250+ employees.

What mental health support is included, and how is confidentiality protected?

Employees can access counsellors, 24/7 life‑advice helplines, and additional pay‑as‑you‑go services such as digital therapy and mental health coaching. All support is confidential and delivered by qualified professionals, with strict data privacy measures to protect employee information.

Counselling and 24/7 life-advice helplines are excluded from the Simply Dental Plan.

What data and reporting do we get to track benefit usage and ROI?

You'll receive detailed MI (management information) data showing usage patterns, engagement rates, and trends across your workforce. This reporting supports audits, ESG reporting and leadership decisions.

What's the difference between Simplyhealth plans and private medical insurance (PMI)?

Traditional PMI typically covers major medical events like surgery in private hospitals but excludes routine care and pre-existing conditions*. Simplyhealth focuses on everyday healthcare needs, with some of our plans including 24/7online GP access, mental health support, and money-back towards dental, optical, and physiotherapy - helping to address some of the health issues most commonly linked to sick days.

*Specific coverage will vary depending on the provider and plan.
