I joined Simplyhealth after retiring as CEO at Standard Life Healthcare. Having worked in the health insurance market for many years and healthcare for over 45 years, I am passionate about both the industry and working with companies like Simplyhealth that have a clear vision and a strong set of ethics.
Before joining Simplyhealth, I worked in the NHS in CEO equivalent positions and was the hospitals' director for Bupa, responsible for its entire business of 29 hospitals. I was then headhunted to HCI where I was brought in to turn around its falling profits, before moving to Standard Life. A highlight here was being awarded 'Best Company for Customer Service' for seven years running.
Working in such a wide variety of healthcare businesses has confirmed one critical aspect – our people are the core of our success and creating a great place to work has always been of paramount importance to me.
