Benefit choices 

There are three modules available with Simply Personal Health. Diagnosis, Treatment and Heart and Cancer.

The Diagnosis module is compulsory and helps find out what's wrong. It is then your client's choice if they want to add Treatment and/or Heart and Cancer cover.

Diagnosis

Diagnosis cover pays for diagnostic tests and consultations with a specialist in order to diagnose a condition. Diagnosis pays for some tests on GP referral.

Key benefits

If your client has an undiagnosed symptom, Diagnosis cover will provide cover for the following:

  • Specialists' fees for consultations
  • Diagnostic tests
  • NHS cash benefit
  • Private ambulance
  • Parent accompanying child
  • Rapid Access Physiotherapy service

Exclusions that apply to Diagnosis cover

  • Treatment - we will pay for treatment only if your client has cover under the 'Treatment cover' option. We will pay for treatment of a heart condition or cancer only if they have cover under 'Treatment for heart and cancer'
  • Angiogram - we will pay for an angiogram only if your client has cover under the 'Heart and cancer cover' option
  • Consultations and diagnostic tests after their GP or specialist has given a diagnosis
  • Routine or ongoing consultations or monitoring
  • General exclusions

 

Treatment

Once your client has been diagnosed the Treatment module will ensure that they receive the necessary treatment to get them better. This does not include treatment for any Heart or Cancer condition.

  • Physiotherapy
  • Complementary therapies - osteopathy, chiropody/podiatry, chiropractic, acupuncture and homeopathy
  • Dental surgery
  • Complications of pregnancy and childbirth
  • NHS cash benefit
  • Private ambulance
  • Home nursing
  • Parent accompanying child
  • New child payment

Exclusions that apply to Treatment cover

  • Treatment for cancer - we will pay for cancer treatment only if your client has cover under 'Treatment for heart and cancer'
  • Treatment for a heart condition - we will pay for cancer treatment only if your client has cover under 'Treatment for heart and cancer'
  • General exclusions

 

Heart and Cancer

We don't know what life has in store for us - especially when it comes to our health. So it makes sense to provide your client and their family with the extra peace of mind that the Heart and Cancer module offers. This cover will help if they are diagnosed with one of the two biggest health risks we face today - namely, heart conditions and cancer.

This module can have a lifetime limit of £50,000 each for the treatment of Heart and Cancer conditions or the cover can be unlimited depending on your client's requirements. Claiming for one will not affect their claim for the other. Heart and Cancer is designed to work alongside the NHS. If the treatment costs look like they will exceed the benefit available, we will work with your client's Specialist and the NHS to make sure that treatment continues smoothly if they decide not to fund the remaining treatment themselves.

  • Post surgery consultations and tests to monitor them for a period of 2 years following treatment of a heart condition
  • Post surgery consultations and tests to monitor them for a period of 5 years following treatment for cancer

Exclusions that apply to Treatment for Heart and Cancer cover

  • Any costs over £50,000 for treatment of heart conditions during the time that your client is covered by the policy if the policyholder has chosen limited cover for 'Treatment for heart and cancer'
  • Any costs over £50,000 for treatment of cancer during the time that your client is covered by the policy if the policyholder has chosen limited cover for 'Treatment for heart and cancer'
