The Lady Garden Foundation is a national women’s health charity, raising awareness and funding for gynaecological health. The money raised funds cutting-edge studies which they hope will revolutionise the treatment of these cancers.
When they started in 2014, their surveys showed that 41% of women were too embarrassed to go to the doctor about a gynaecological issue, let alone talk to a friend. They thought it was time for that to change. The more open we are about talking about our bodies, the more we will understand them. The more we understand them, the more likely we are to realise when something is wrong.
Gynaecological cancers have devastating outcomes for women. Each year in the UK, over 21,000 women are diagnosed with a gynaecological cancer. This means 58 women receive a gynaecological cancer diagnosis every day. Sadly, of these women, 21 will die from their gynaecological cancer.
The Lady Garden and Simplyhealth's shared synergy is our belief that if we don't talk about it, we can't change it. By shining a light on women’s health conversations together, we hope to make the often perceived uncomfortable or taboo, comfortable for all.
Our partnership will support the Lady Garden Challenge 2022, where runners and walkers and anyone who wants to get active, can raise funds for the foundation.
Join in the month-long virtual fitness challenge from 14th April.
Walk, crawl, run, swim or hike your way to 50k, 100k or 250k.

"We are delighted that this year The Lady Garden Challenge in Partnership with Simplyhealth will help create more awareness of the 5 gynaecological cancers, Ovarian, Cervical, Uterine, Vulval and Vaginal – they are often referred to as Silent Killers.
Today, and every day, 58 women in the UK will receive the life changing news of a gynaecological cancer diagnosis. With the support of Simplyhealth we are looking to shout about the symptoms and help increase awareness of the symptoms and save the lives of women diagnosed."
"The Lady Garden 2022 Challenge is simple - we are asking participants to commit to a distance from the 14th April until the 14th May and get sponsorship along the way.
Our live run in Hyde Park is limited to 500 entrants, however with the virtual sign-up we have no limit on location or numbers. Do it for your mum your sister, your auntie, your daughter, your friend or YOURSELF."
