Running is scientifically proven to be good for the body and mind

Great personal rewards

Running delivers great personal rewards

Crossing the line creates a great sense of achievement; the rush of endorphins and the associated euphoria can become quite addictive.

It's not just a short term high. The NHS reports* that the benefits of running and regular physical exercise are proven to lower your risk of: heart disease by up to 35%, type 2 diabetes by up to 50% and osteoarthritis by up to 83%.

Benefits beyond physical health

Exercise delivers benefits beyond the physical

It isn't just about minimising physical health issues, exercise can help take care of your mental wellbeing too.

Sadly one in four people experience a mental health problem in any given year and it's medically proven that people who regularly exercise can reduce the risk of depression and suffering from dementia by up to 30%*.

Our partnership with Mind

Being physically active boosts mental health

Every year, Mind provides advice and support to millions of people who are experiencing a mental health problem. Together, we want to raise awareness and understanding of the link between physical activity and mental wellbeing and raise funds for the essential support provided by this wonderful charity.

Stephen Fry opens up about his battles with mental health and the work being done by Mind in a candid interview.
