As Chairman of LHF at the time of the merger I was invited to join the Group Board. I am passionate about the history of our cashplan businesses; we should never forget our roots as savings clubs for people who had no other access to healthcare provisions. What is happening now in healthcare means that in some cases we are returning to that same position. After 30 years with LHF I see good governance – and explaining change to our members – as being critical to our non-Executive role.
