After stepping down as Chief Executive of De La Rue in May 2004, having joined there from T&N Plc in 1998, I was already a non-Executive Director of Manchester United Plc and on the Board of Camelot. The experience at Camelot particularly, in a high profile, highly regulated organisation, has been immensely valuable in my Simplyhealth Group Board role. I chair the Risk Committee and that’s a fascinating area. Reputation and ethics are of course paramount success factors for us, and assessing the impact of moves into new markets and the acquisition of new companies is of growing importance for the Group.
