We have seen massive technological changes in my time at the Group – image and workflow management, a new Call Centre environment and a 10-fold increase in PCs. I have two guiding principles in my role. First, technology change needs careful planning to avoid waste and inefficiency. Secondly, there is no point in technology for its own sake, or merely to cut corners: it must deliver real benefits to customers.
