I joined the Board in 1998 after a long career in the Army and valuable business experience at Sun Alliance. I find that a wider perspective of life helps to focus everyone on the heart of an issue. I try to use my Army training to lead and liaise effectively. A particular part of my role is working closely with the Chief Executive, but I also feel a big responsibility towards the Group’s members and staff.
