Hospital tests showed that David suffered from significant sleep disturbance resulting in a mini-stroke. The solution was a Cpaps machine which helps to regulate the air he takes in and controls his erratic pulse rate.
Although he wasn't covered for this equipment on his Healthplan, the customer advisor he spoke to made separate enquiries which resulted in him receiving help from the Community Fund towards the cost. |
